The government has lost it's most recent appeal regrading the illegal manner in which they tried to make drastic and damaging changes to the Solar Feed-in-Tariff scheme. There is still work to do to ensure thousands of green jobs and huge improvements in the uptake of renewable energy.
Ask David Cameron for a bright Solar Future
Despite the uncertainty caused by the government's failed attempt with these damaging changes, we have adapted the scheme so that it is still and attractive financial opportunity to support communities with becoming more sustainable and doing more social action. Please still contact us if you are interested in being part of this opportunity.

Funds available for your community to go green, save money,
and make more money every year.
Turn £6000 into more than £30,000 for sustainability, social action, and your community
Big Green Jewish, in partnership with JHub, is delighted to announce our intention to maintain our new social action initiative to help organisations go green and save money, whilst also generating income across communities for social action.
Through the Solar Action initiative, communal organisations (including but not limited to synagogues, schools and museums) who own their buildings will have the opportunity to apply for part-funding of Solar PV panel installation on their building.
This will enable organisations to generate their own environmentally-friendly energy. As well as saving hundreds of pounds on utility bills, organisations will receive a significant annual return on their investment, thanks to the UK Government's Feed-in Tariffs scheme, which guarantees payment for electricity generated by solar panels.
For more information on solar panels, see our case study or see some background information from Energise Barnet.
Solar Action can provide up to 60% of the upfront cost for an organisation to install Solar PV. In return the organisation will spend 60% of the income generated by Feed-in-Tariffs [FiT] on further sustainability measures and social action projects. 30& of the FiT income will be unrestricted income each year for the organisation. The remaining 10% is the contribution we ask as 'pay back' to support wider sustainability and social action work throughout the community. All energy bill savings will be the organisations to keep.
Here's an example of how this would work with a 5kWp system.
Total Cost: £15,000.
NB: The approximate costs and income given in the example above are subject to technical survey of a building’s roof and electrics, and will change with different system sizes.
