Your Organisation

There are plenty of changes organisations can make to be greener and more energy efficient. Below are some examples of Jewish Communal organisations making changes and becoming greener. 	Board of Deputies The Board of Deputies of British Jews passed a resolution in September 2009 at their plenary session “urging all UK Synagogues and Jewish Organisations to take practical steps, as soon as possible, to make their premises environmentally friendly and energy – efficient”. 	London School of Jewish Studies Believe it or not, in a quiet corner of Hendon, north-west London, a green revolution is underway. As part of the ' Five minutes with... ' series, film-maker Lara Smallman paid a visit to LSJS' up and coming eco-garden. With resident worms composting all of the school's waste, vegetable growing and much, much more, LSJS is putting Jewish environmental ethics into action in a very big way. 	UJIA UJIA is the largest Jewish charity investing in young people and education in Israel and the UK. UJIA have been working for many months of their environment policy, to read the case study click here. In June last year, the charity made a momentous move, not just in re-locating to Camden Town, but in transitioning to an altogether green practice. Film-maker Lara Smallman went to see how the new building has enabled UJIA to realise its green ambitions, and educate others on the importance of environmentalism. To watch the video click here.
