Interact are looking for committed individuals to form a youth committee to spread the message of energy awareness and bring a call for action into local communities. Participants will receive training in a City and Guilds Accredited Energy Awareness Course and will then work to create an Energy Awareness Roadshow for community centres and places of worship.

A passion for the environment and interaction is essential and the project will require a commitment until the end of March 2010.

To apply for this please contact Lucy at Interact for an application form: lucy@interact-uk.org.uk

If you would like to be on the supporting team of volunteers to design and deliver the roadshow please email Lucy to register.

Application process:

About the Initiative

The Interfaith and Climate Change Leadership Initiative is a new project where  young people from different faith backgrounds will work together to recruit other volunteers and organise an Energy Awareness Roadshow for different communities until the end of March 2010.

This group will work together as a youth committee gaining access to the vibrant interfaith sector in the UK, but specifically in London, working closely with both environmental and faith based organisations and charities. 8 participants will be also trained to receive a City & Guilds Energy Awareness Qualification and work with other recruited volunteers to create resources on Energy Awareness and combating fuel poverty. These resources will then be used to design a Roadshow exhibition which will provide local communities and Places of Worship with information and advice regarding Energy Awareness. Whilst on the programme the participants will also receive training on leadership, project planning, event and budget management and community dialogue.

The purpose of these events/activities is to provide new opportunities for young people (aged 16-25, and from different faith backgrounds) to volunteer together in combating the universal issue of climate change.
