Eyal Biger learned early on that preaching his cause didn't create the change he was looking for. So he decided to lead by example, or as he puts it he just "walks the walk", by creating and using practical environmental solutions in his own home. From man-powered generators to homemade diesel fuel, this one man carbon-offsetting marvel excels at showing everyone how easy and practical it is to be environmentally conscious.
In 2007 he established the Good Energy Initiative , a non-profit organization and the only one in Israel working toward carbon offsetting.
The Good Energy Initiative is a unique project established by the Heschel Center for Environmental Learning & Leadership. As a committed task-force we act to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) source production, and to support Israeli energy independence by means of energy efficiency and alternative technologies. The GEI is a social venture investing revenues in non-profit social/environmental activities, and it is the only active voluntary carbon offsetting body in Israel.
